Iron Man

📢📢Iron Man 📢📢

Students in Y4 have been reading the Iron Man. To deepen our understanding of the text, we performed it, focusing on the verbs and how to portray them. The students really enjoyed this and enjoyed the variety of verbs used for the monster and Iron Man!

'The Fish Who Could Wish'

🌊🐟 'The Fish Who Could Wish' 🌊🐟

This week in nursery, we’ve been diving into the delightful story of 'The Fish Who Could Wish'! The little ones have had a splash-tastic time counting fish, creating their very own fish out of playdough, and building colorful fish tanks. It’s been a week full of imagination and fun! 🎨💙

🌊🐠 FS2's Fantastic Trip to The Deep! 🐧🦈

What an amazing adventure our FS2 children had at The Deep! 🚌✨

From spotting the graceful stingrays and colourful clownfish 🐟, to watching the sharks glide overhead in the glass tunnel 🦈, our little explorers were full of awe and wonder! We even got to see the cheeky penguins waddling and diving! 🐧💦

The children learned so much about ocean animals and how we can help protect their homes 🌍. Their curiosity and excellent behaviour made us so proud — well done, FS2! 👏

A big thank you to all our parent helpers and The Deep’s brilliant staff for making the day so special. 💙

Here are a few highlights from our underwater adventure 📸👇

OFSTED INSPECTION JUNIOR SCHOOL

Good morning, families!

We have some exciting news to share! Our recent ungraded Ofsted inspection revealed that High Hazels Junior School has taken effective action and continues to shine brightly as a GOOD school! 🎉 A HUGE thank you to our fantastic staff, amazing students, and supportive parents – your hard work and dedication truly make a difference! 💖

Don’t miss the lovely letter from our CEO, Jon Coles, and our Director of Primary, Darran Ellison-Lee, shared below. Here's to more great accomplishments ahead! 🥳

Dear Parents and Carers,

Ofsted Inspection

As you may know, High Hazels Junior School received a visit from Ofsted who carried out an ungraded inspection earlier this term. Following this, we are incredibly pleased that the inspector judged that the school has maintained the standards identified at the previous inspection, during which it was rated ‘Good’.

The inspector’s report is full of praise for the school and the positive learning environment staff have created. From the quality of the academic curriculum to pupils’ behaviour and attitudes, it is clear that the inspector was impressed by the school and the experiences it is providing pupils with. As the inspector found, these are preparing pupils well for meaningful and successful lives in British society.

In particular, it is gratifying to read in the report about the caring and nurturing culture that is embedded across the school. Pupils are said to feel “happy and safe in this warm, cheerful and welcoming school”, as well as “proud to attend a school where they are cared for deeply by

staff”. The inspector also found that pupils’ behaviour is “impeccable” and that pupils show

“positive attitudes to their learning”.

Equally, we are pleased that the inspector noted that pupils are learning and achieving well at High Hazels Junior School. This is thanks to the school’s “ambitious curriculum” as well as the “high expectations” the academy has for its pupils, including for those with SEND. According to the report, running alongside the academic curriculum, pupils also have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities which allow them to develop their talents and interests, and which contribute to a well-rounded education.

We would encourage you to read the full report which is now available on the school webs

🌟 Science 🌟

Last Friday was an unforgettable day in Year 6 Amethyst! We dove into an exciting science lesson where we had the chance to dissect and explore sheep’s hearts! 🐑💖 Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got involved – it was such a hands-on experience! We discovered the four chambers of the heart and even took a close look at the valves and vessels. Science is so cool when you can really get into it!
