Y2 Trip to Weston Park Museum

Dear Parents/Carers

We are excited to inform you that Y2 will be visiting Weston Park Museum as part of our new Art topic, “Pattern and Texture.” We hope this will be a memorable and engaging experience for the children, helping them to further develop their artistic skills.

Y2 Moonstone will visit Weston Park Museum on Wednesday 24th September and Y2 Diamond & Y2 Sunstone will visit on Tuesday 30th September.

During the day, the children will explore patterns and shapes, design their own printing blocks, and then use them to create prints on a large collaborative banner.

We would like you to make a voluntary contribution of £6.00 per child. This includes the cost of the workshop and bus fare. Please return all payments to Arbor. If you have any questions about how to pay for the trip on Arbor, please speak to the office team who will assist you further.

All children will be provided with a free packed lunch by school. If your child is bringing their own packed lunch, please let their class teacher know.

All children will need to wear their school uniform and sensible shoes. Please make sure children have got a coat suitable for the weather.

Prior to the trip, we ask that any medical information is up to date, you can check this is correct at the school office. If you have any further concerns or queries about the school trip, we advise you to speak to your child’s class teacher.

We hope that you are looking forward to this experience just as much as we are.

Yours sincerely

Year 2 Team.

Join us on Wednesday 24th September 9-10am in the Woodlands for a fabulous coffee morning to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support! 🎉

We would love your help! If you’re able to whip up something sweet, cake donations will be gratefully received. Just a little reminder to include all allergy information. 🧁❤️

And don't worry—if there are any cakes left at the end of our morning session, we'll be selling them at the Junior yard after school. So, let’s spread the word and make this a delightful event!

See you there! ☕️🍰

Y4 Swimming Sessions

Dear Parent/Carers

I am writing to inform you that children in Year 4 will be starting swimming lessons as part of their PE curriculum on Tuesday, 9th September 2025. Pupils will attend school as normal on Tuesdays and will travel, supervised by school staff, via coach to the Ponds Forge Leisure Centre each week. The swimming sessions will run until Tuesday, 27th January 2026 and will be taught by qualified swimming instructors. The sessions are fully funded by school, and as they are part of the curriculum, all children are expected to participate.

Times are a little bit different this year! Please can Y4 Peridot arrive at school for 8:30 AM, as the coach will pick you up at 8:50 AM. For Y4 Turquoise and Y4 Onyx, you can stick to the regular school arrival time.

For each lesson your child will need to come to school dressed in their swimwear (underneath their school uniform).

They will also need to bring the following:

  • A towel
  • A waterproof bag
  • A change of underwear

Please ensure you follow the guidance below:

  • Your child should not bring or wear any jewelry, including ear piercings. Taping over piercings is not acceptable and will mean your child cannot participate in a swimming session.
  • Long hair must be tied back.
  • The teacher will ensure any medication which has been shared with school is taken with the child’s group. If your child has a medical need such as asthma, this information has been shared with school and an inhaler has been provided.
  • Appropriate swimwear must be worn each week. Please do not send your child in shorts below the knee, heavy outdoor clothing or underwear.
  • If your child is required to wear a long sleeve top and leggings, these should be lightweight materials and worn underneath or on top of swimwear.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
