   Our Y3 pupils are diving into their swimming sessions starting Tuesday, 10th February, and swimming all the way until 7th July, 2026! Please make sure your child brings their swimming kit to school every Tuesday, so they can make the most of this splashing good time! Times are a little bit different this year! Please can Y3 Tanzanite arrive at school for 8:30 AM, as the coach will pick you up at 8:50 AM. For Y3 Citrine and Y3 Zircon you can stick to the regular school arrival time.
   Dear families, In a bid to make uniform more affordable, we have decided to change our school uniform slightly. Pupils can now wear navy blue sweatshirts/cardigans either with/without the logo, white polo shirt, plain black jogging bottoms/leggings/skirts, black shoes or plain black trainers, children no longer need to wear ties. Girls can wear a pull over type (not loose) scarf in navy or black
   Just a quick reminder that this weekend is the May Day Bank Holiday! Our school will be closed on Monday, 4th May, for all pupils and staff. We’ll be back and ready to learn on Tuesday, 5th May, with breakfast club opening at 8am as usual! Wishing you all a fantastic long weekend filled with fun and family time!
   Y1 are heading to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster on Wednesday, 6th May! This trip will be a wonderful way for our Year 1 students to explore and learn about animals, wrapping up our science unit. We'll leave school at 9:00 am and plan to return by 3:30 pm. If there are any delays, we'll notify you by 2:30 pm—so please keep your contact details updated! A contribution of £15.00 per child is needed for the entrance fee and coach. **Cold Weather**: Please ensure your child wears sensible clothing, shoes, and a warm, weather-proof coat with their name in it. **Hot Weather**: Full school uniform is required, along with sensible shoes, a hat, and sun-screen. Don’t forget to label your child’s jumper! **Lunch**: Each child will get a free packed lunch from school. Just send a labeled drink! Parents please pay and give consent via the Arbor app or at the school office. Plus, please double-check that all medical info is current!
   We have an exciting trip planned for our Y2 children to the National Emergency Services Museum on Thursday, 7th May! They’ll dive into the fascinating history of the Great Fire of London and get hands-on with some replica objects. We'll be leaving school at 8:40 AM and are set to return by 3:15 PM. A free packed lunch will be provided by school Get ready for an amazing day of learning and adventure! .
   Good morning families We would love to invite parents from Y4 Onyx (Miss Hanif's) class to watch their showcase assembly on Friday 8th May at 10am. The children are so excited to showcase examples of work they have done so far this term. Please come along if you can.
   Dear families Over the course of Year 3, we will be studying the Peak District in Geography. To support the children with their understanding of what the Peak District has to offer, we will be going on an educational visit to Matlock Farm Park in Derbyshire. The visits will take place on: - Monday, 18th May To get a full day at the farm, we aim to leave school at 8.55am, so please drop your child to school at 8:40am. We expect to return to school by 4.00pm. You will need to collect your child from the junior hall. If there are any delays, the school’s office team will contact you by 3.30pm. To ensure you can receive any updates on delays, please check your contact details are correct at the school’s main office. We are asking for £15.00 per child which covers the cost of the coach and entry to the farm. Please return payment and consent via the Arbor app. For this trip, children must wear full school uniform including sensible shoes/wellies. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch and a bottle of water with their name written on it. If your child is in receipt of free school meals a packed lunch will be ordered for them. In the event of wet weather, we are asking that all children bring a weather-proof coat with their name written in it. A very warm welcome!

I am incredibly proud and privileged to lead High Hazels Primary Academy and look forward to welcoming and introducing you to our fantastic team, who are proud to serve Darnall and the surrounding communities.   

We are committed to ensuring the children of this community continue have the best education possible by following the principles of United Learning Framework for Excellence ; The Best from Everyone, Powerful Knowledge, Education with Character, Continuous Improvement, and Leadership in every Role. Therefore, making High Hazels Primary Academy a hub of academic excellence which everyone associated with will be proud of.   

 We are a school who welcome children from three to eleven years old.  Our school is a family where everyone is valued and recognised as an individual. It is a place where talents and interests are nurtured, and all are encouraged to aim to be the very best they can be in all aspects of life. We believe that every child has the ability to shine, given the right care and support and that our similarities and differences are things we celebrate with pride. 

The life of our school is driven by our core values of Respect, Confidence, Enthusiasm, Creativity, Ambition, and Determination. Learning is brought to life through high quality lessons, real life experiences and opportunities to recall and apply knowledge previously learned. Our teaching team uses high quality resources, have the highest expectations for all and instil in our children a belief that anything is possible with hard work, resilience, courage and determination.
