🌟 FS2 Weekly Update 🌟

This week in Math, we've been having a blast exploring the numbers 6, 7, and 8! We've focused on finding and representing these numbers, plus we've dived into the concepts of 1 more, 1 less, and how these numbers fit together! 📊

We also enjoyed the delightful story of 'Zog' and discussed all the amazing skills Zog learned at dragon school. 🐉💫

Next week promises even more fun as we prepare to act out the story, create our own story maps, and, of course, enjoy making pancakes! 🥞 Can’t wait to see all the creativity! 🎉

🌟 Nursery Stay & Play Fun🌟

A huge THANK YOU to all the amazing parents who joined us for our Stay and Play nursery session yesterday! It was great to see you all there🎉

🚗🚘Vehicle Fun 🚗🚘

This week the nursery children got busy creating their very own vehicles inspired by our story “We All Go Travelling By”. Using a variety of craft materials, they designed cars, trains, planes and more – each one unique and full of imagination.

The children explored cutting, sticking, painting and decorating as they brought their vehicles to life. These hands-on activities supported fine motor skills, creativity and confidence, while giving everyone the chance to talk about different ways we travel.

We loved seeing the children so focused and proud of their finished creations – some fantastic crafting from our little artists! 🎨✨

Entrepreneur Me - 6th March

Dear Parents/Carers/Families and Friends

We have a very exciting opportunity for you!  On Friday 6th March 2026, Matt Stewart from Entrepreneur Me is returning to High Hazels Academy to run an ‘Enterprise Day’ with our Y5 pupils.

Matt ran this session with Y6 last year and it was a fantastic day!

Last year, he created a short video inviting any parents/friends/family members, who are currently in employment, to volunteer their time to help the children.  This will give you an idea of what to expect on the day, but the date for this year is still 6th March.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP3xqA_S4OI

If you would like to come and join us on the day, please register your interest in the school office and Miss Field will be in touch with you.

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to hearing from you

🌟 History Fun In Y6! 🌟

Our incredible Year 6 students are stepping into the shoes of historians as they dive into the intriguing world of chronology! They've been exploring the fascinating growth and eventual collapse of the Anglo-Saxon era. 🎉 Working in pairs, they've created amazing timelines to highlight the most significant events from this period.

But that's not all! To wrap up their learning, they’ll be putting their knowledge to the test on Kahoot! later this week! 🎮📚 We can’t wait to see who will come out on top!

Gymnastics in Year 5!

🌟 Gymnastics in Year 5! 🌟

Y5 had a fantastic visit from a gymnastics coach and the owner of a gymnastics club! They shared all about their jobs and how amazing gymnastics can be as a hobby. 🤸‍♀️✨ We had the opportunity to ask tons of questions to learn about the qualifications needed to become a gymnastics coach and the importance of resilience when mastering new skills.

Thanks to our visitors for inspiring us all to jump into new challenges! Who knows, maybe we’ll see some future gymnasts in our class! 🏅🌈

OPAL Playtime Donations Alert!

Morning families!

We’re super excited to share that our Opal Play project is a hit with the children during lunch times! 🎉 To make it even better, we’re reaching out for your help!

This week, we’re on the lookout for any pushchairs, toy prams and scooters, that you might have tucked away and no longer use. If you have any of these items, we’d love to give them a new home in our play sessions!

Thank you so much for your ongoing support! You make our community awesome! 💖
