Fictional Narrative

Students in Year 6 have been designing their settings for their fictional narrative. Working in groups, they annotated various settings and generated details descriptions including verbs, nouns and adjectives. The classes then collated some ideas and added them to their 'pick n' mix' wall which will support them through the remainder of the unit. What a lovely start to the week, Y6!

Y6 Trip to Magna

Dear Parents/Carers

This half term, Y6 have been studying electricity in science.  To support their learning, we will be going on an educational visit to Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham.  This is sure to be a fantastic opportunity for all!

The visits will take place on:

  • Tuesday 4th November 2025 – Y6 Sapphire and ½ Y6 Amethyst
  • Thursday 6th November 2025 – Y6 Rhodonite and ½ Y6 Amethyst

We aim to leave school at 9:30am, so please bring your child to school at normal school time. We aim to be back in school for 3:15pm. If there are any delays, the school’s office team will contact you by 3:00pm. To ensure you can receive any updates on delays, please check your contact details are correct at the school’s main office.

We are asking for £10.00 per child which covers the cost of the coach, full access to the Science Centre and a workshop.  Please return payment in full via the Arbor app.

For this trip, children must wear full school uniform. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch.  If your child is eligible for free school meals, a packed lunch will be provided for them.

If you have any questions about this trip, please talk to your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continued support.

🛥🛥Long Boat Creations 🛥🛥

Students in Y6 have been learning all about the Anglo Saxons in History and had a session on identifying key parts of their longboats. They then spent some time sketching them and we could not be more impressed with their pieces!

Owl Babies

After reading owl babies in nursery, we talked about the three baby owls from the story — Sarah, Percy, and Bill — and then had a go at ordering different owls by size. The children did a wonderful job using words like “biggest,” “smaller,” and “tiny!” 🪶

OPAL Playtime Donations

Good morning, families!

We’re excited to share that our children are having a blast during playtime, and the OPAL project is really taking off! This week, we’re on the lookout for any old pots, pans, and kitchen utensils you no longer use. If you've got any spare items lying around, we’d be absolutely thrilled to give them a new life in our play sessions!

Also, don’t forget to check out some fun snapshots of the kids enjoying their lunchtime activities from last week! 📸

Thank you so much for your ongoing support! You truly make our community awesome! 💖
