Y4 Peridot Library Visit

Y4 Peridot had an amazing time at Darnall Library!

The librarian welcomed us warmly, explained what a library is and how it works, and even read a hilarious story all about a mischievous mushroom!

After that, we had the chance to explore the children’s section -discovering new books, cosy reading spaces and lots of exciting stories waiting to be opened.

A huge thank you to the team at Darnall Library for making our visit so special!

OPAL Playtime Donations Alert!

Morning families!

We’re super excited to share that our Opal Play project is a hit with the children during lunch times! πŸŽ‰ To make it even better, we’re reaching out for your help!

This week, we’re on the lookout for any pushchairs, toy prams, wheelchairs & scooters, that you might have tucked away and no longer use. If you have any of these items, we’d love to give them a new home in our play sessions!

And guess what? We’ve got some fun snapshots of the kids enjoying their lunchtime activities last week! πŸ“Έ

Thank you so much for your ongoing support! You make our community awesome! πŸ’–

World Book Day 2026

What an incredible World Book Day we've had today! πŸ“š This year's theme, 'Go All in - If you’re into it, read into it,' truly inspired us all!

The kids & staff came in some amazing costumes and PJs! They enjoyed live readings with authors, sparking their creativity and love for books. We also:

- Dove into graphic novels and explored their unique layouts.

- The kiddos got creative, forming teams or working solo on their own graphic novels.

- Everyone collaborated to design their stunning covers!

These creations will be 'published' for everyone to celebrate. What a fun-filled day! Keep inspiring your young readers! πŸ“–βœ¨

πŸ’ΌπŸ’ΌCareers πŸ’ΌπŸ’Ό

Yesterday Y4 had a visitor in school who helped us think about how to behave when we have a job. We talked about our future careers and the different kinds of jobs people might do. We even learnt about unusual jobs - like someone who tidies up all the rubbish floating in space!

It was a great chance to think about what we might want to be when we grow up and how the choices we make now can help us get there.
