Fun Learning in FS2

This week in our learning, we have had such a busy and exciting time!

We really enjoyed our Sow and Grow Day, where we planted seeds to help the bees ๐Ÿ, as well as growing our own vegetables and herbs. It was wonderful to get hands-on and learn about how we can care for our environment.

We have been building our confidence by learning how to balance and pedal on bikes ๐Ÿšฒ — we are so proud of the progress everyone is making!

As part of our geography learning, we took a trip to the library, where we explored our local area and developed our understanding of the world around us ๐Ÿ“š.

We’ve also made the most of the lovely sunshine outdoors, enjoying time together while learning and playing โ˜€๏ธ.

In maths, we are focusing on counting beyond 10 and beginning to notice patterns within numbers, which is helping to build strong number skills.

A big thank you to all the parents who attended the library trip and to those who kindly brought in seeds for our Sow and Grow Day — your support makes such a difference!

Y3 Water Safety Session Alert!

Just a friendly reminder to all Y3 parents: on Tuesday, 28th April and Tuesday, 5th May, please make sure your little ones bring some extra clothing to wear over their swimming kits. They’ll be participating in important water safety sessions, and we want them to be prepared and comfy!

Many thanks! ๐ŸŒŸ

Y3 Matlock Farm Park Trip

Dear Parent/Carer

Over the course of Year 3, we will be studying the Peak District in Geography. To support the children with their understanding of what the Peak District has to offer, we will be going on an educational visit to Matlock Farm Park in Derbyshire.

The visits will take place on: - Monday, 18th May

To get a full day at the farm, we aim to leave school at 8.55am, so please drop your child to school at 8:40am. We expect to return to school by 4.00pm. You will need to collect your child from the junior hall. If there are any delays, the school’s office team will contact you by 3.30pm. To ensure you can receive any updates on delays, please check your contact details are correct at the school’s main office.

We are asking for £15.00 per child which covers the cost of the coach and entry to the farm. Please return payment and consent via the Arbor app. You may pay in installments of £1.00 until the full payment is received.

If you have any concerns or questions about payment, please speak to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible so alternative arrangements can be made. If there are any difficulties with using the Arbor app for payment, then please see the school office.

For this trip, children must wear full school uniform including sensible shoes/wellies. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch and a bottle of water with their name written on it. If your child is in receipt of free school meals a packed lunch will be ordered for them.

In the event of wet weather, we are asking that all children bring a weather-proof coat with their name written in it.

If you have any other questions or queries about the trip, please talk to your child’s class teacher.

Many thanks

Year 3 team

Persuasive Writing

Yesterday, our Y4 children wrapped up their persuasive writing unit with an inspiring protest about deforestation! We even had lovely Grandma Ingrid join in, adding her voice to the mix! ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒณ

๐ŸŒŸY6 Debating! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our students have been diving into the world of balanced arguments and learning how to discuss both sides of an issue, regardless of their personal beliefs. It’s been amazing to see them engaging in thoughtful debates and exploring various topics together. Their ability to present and consider different viewpoints is truly impressive! Keep up the great work, Y6! ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ
