🌊🐠 FS2's Fantastic Trip to The Deep! 🐧🦈

What an amazing adventure our FS2 children had at The Deep! 🚌✨

From spotting the graceful stingrays and colourful clownfish 🐟, to watching the sharks glide overhead in the glass tunnel 🦈, our little explorers were full of awe and wonder! We even got to see the cheeky penguins waddling and diving! πŸ§πŸ’¦

The children learned so much about ocean animals and how we can help protect their homes 🌍. Their curiosity and excellent behaviour made us so proud — well done, FS2! πŸ‘

A big thank you to all our parent helpers and The Deep’s brilliant staff for making the day so special. πŸ’™

Here are a few highlights from our underwater adventure πŸ“ΈπŸ‘‡

OFSTED INSPECTION JUNIOR SCHOOL

Good morning families,

Our junior school recently had an Ofsted inspection, and we are thrilled to share that High Hazels Junior School continues to be a GOOD school in ALL AREAS! πŸŽ‰

A massive thank you to our amazing staff, students, and parents for all your hard work and support. Your dedication truly makes a difference! πŸ’–

Don’t miss the lovely letter from our CEO, Jon Coles, and our Director of Primary, Darran Ellison-Lee, shared below. Here's to more great accomplishments ahead! πŸ₯³

Dear Parents and Carers,

Ofsted Inspection

As you may know, High Hazels Junior School received a visit from Ofsted who carried out an ungraded inspection earlier this term. Following this, we are incredibly pleased that the inspector judged that the school has maintained the standards identified at the previous inspection, during which it was rated ‘Good’.

The inspector’s report is full of praise for the school and the positive learning environment staff have created. From the quality of the academic curriculum to pupils’ behaviour and attitudes, it is clear that the inspector was impressed by the school and the experiences it is providing pupils with. As the inspector found, these are preparing pupils well for meaningful and successful lives in British society.

In particular, it is gratifying to read in the report about the caring and nurturing culture that is embedded across the school. Pupils are said to feel “happy and safe in this warm, cheerful and welcoming school”, as well as “proud to attend a school where they are cared for deeply by

staff”. The inspector also found that pupils’ behaviour is “impeccable” and that pupils show

“positive attitudes to their learning”.

Equally, we are pleased that the inspector noted that pupils are learning and achieving well at High Hazels Junior School. This is thanks to the school’s “ambitious curriculum” as well as the “high expectations” the academy has for its pupils, including for those with SEND. According to the report, running alongside the academic curriculum, pupils also have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities which allow them to develop their talents and interests, and which contribute to a well-rounded education.

We would encourage you to read the full report which is now available on the school website.

May we thank you for your support of the school and your child’s education.

Yours sincerely

Our Year 6 students have been on an exciting journey exploring different careers through our awesome project called Future Flyers! 🌟 They rolled up their sleeves and designed super cool surveys to find out the ambitions and thoughts of our lovely Year 5s. πŸ’¬βœοΈ

After gathering all that fantastic data, they've jumped into analyzing the results using Excel and some awesome graph tools. πŸ“ŠπŸ“ˆ What a stellar start to their project! A HUGE thank you to Year 5 for being such great participants and answering all those questions. You all rock! πŸ™ŒπŸŽˆ

🌟 Science 🌟

Last Friday was an unforgettable day in Year 6 Amethyst! We dove into an exciting science lesson where we had the chance to dissect and explore sheep’s hearts! πŸ‘πŸ’– Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got involved – it was such a hands-on experience! We discovered the four chambers of the heart and even took a close look at the valves and vessels. Science is so cool when you can really get into it!

🍽️✨ Cooking Club 🍽️✨

What a whirlwind of culinary adventures we’ve been having at cooking club! Last week, we whipped up some mouth-watering chocolate brownies, inspired by the legendary Aminah and her ‘famous brownies’! 🍫 Aminah was an absolute star, guiding us through the recipe and sharing all her tips.

This week, we flipped the script and dove into the savoury side of things with a super healthy tomato and veg pasta dish. 🍝 Huge shoutout to the girls for showing off their impressive dicing skills! I think we can all agree: everything looks so delicious! πŸ˜πŸ™Œ
