   Dear parents Y3 pupils will visit Ponds Forge every Tuesday morning from 11th February - 15th July for swimming lessons. For each lesson your child will need to come to school dressed in their swimwear (underneath their school uniform). They will also need to bring the following: • A towel • A waterproof bag • A change of underwear
   We want to wish all our families and community who will be celebrating Eid ul-Adha, a very happy Eid Mubarak. To allow our whole school community to celebrate this event, school will be closed on Friday 6th June for all pupils and staff. School will re-open as normal on Monday 9th June.
   The Y2 team would like to invite Parents to a MEET THE TEACHERS BREAKFAST to give you the opportunity to share breakfast with your child and to chat with your child’s teachers. When: Thursday 12th June 2025 Location: Y2 Classrooms Time: 8:40am-9:10am We look forward to seeing you there!
   We would love to invite parents from Y3 Citrine (Mrs Akthar & Miss Hind's) class to watch their showcase assembly on Friday 13th June at 10am. The children are so excited to showcase examples of work they have done so far this term. Please come along if you can.
   On Wednesday, 11th June, our Y2 children will visit High Hazels Park as part of our new writing unit! This trip will help them create an information leaflet about Sheffield. A memorable experience awaits! Parents please ensure you’ve given consent for local visits on Arbor. There’s no cost, and every child will have a free packed lunch. Children should bring a backpack, a labelled drinks bottle and dress for the weather. We’d love some parent volunteers to join us! If you’re interested, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
   We're thrilled to share that our school will be joining the ‘Relay Your Way’ event on **Friday, 13th June 2025**! This relay is all about inclusivity, physical activity, and boosting our school spirit. **What’s it about?** Relay Your Way is a national event celebrating 1.5 million young people in the UK with disabilities, including 500,000 children living with brain conditions. Our school has the honor of passing the baton as the event travels through Sheffield!    On Tuesday, 17th June, Year 5 will embark on an amazing trip to The National Space Centre in Leicester as part of our ‘Space’ topic! They'll explore fascinating galleries full of space suits, rockets, and even visit the UK's largest domed planetarium! Don’t forget to pack a lunch and drink for your child. If they receive free school meals, a packed lunch will be provided! Arrival at school is 8:00 AM, and we expect to return around 4 PM. Please confirm your child's attendance via the Arbor app or speak to the school office. For any questions, please see your child’s class teacher or the Year 5 team.    On Tuesday, June 17th, we’re thrilled to welcome the ‘Animal Club’ from Sheffield to our nursery as part of our theme ‘All Creatures Great and Small’! We’re aiming to create a memorable day for the children, deepening their understanding of the wide variety of animals and creatures that share our world. Get ready for a gentle and fun interactive session where the little ones will have the chance to learn fascinating facts about different animals. They’ll also discover the importance of being gentle and kind to all living beings!
   Our Y2 children to the National Emergency Services Museum on Wednesday, 18th June! They’ll explore the incredible history of the Great Fire of London and even get to handle some replica objects. We can’t wait! Please have your child at school by 8:30 AM, as we’ll leave at 8:40 AM and return by 3:15 PM. The cost is just £8 per child. Don’t forget to pack a spare change of clothes and a water bottle labeled with your child’s name! The school will provide a free packed lunch, but if your child is bringing their own, please let their class teacher know.
   Dear families! On Wednesday 2nd July, all our children will be moving up to their new classes and spending time with their new teachers.    New School Uniform for September 2024 Dear families, In a bid to make uniform more affordable, we have decided to change our school uniform slightly. Pupils can now wear navy blue sweatshirts/cardigans either with/without the logo, white polo shirt, plain black jogging bottoms/leggings/skirts, black shoes or plain black trainers, children no longer need to wear ties. Girls can wear a pull over type (not loose) scarf in navy or black

A very warm welcome!

I am incredibly proud and privileged to lead High Hazels Primary Academy and look forward to welcoming and introducing you to our fantastic team, who are proud to serve Darnall and the surrounding communities.   

We are committed to ensuring the children of this community continue have the best education possible by following the principles of United Learning Framework for Excellence ; The Best from Everyone, Powerful Knowledge, Education with Character, Continuous Improvement, and Leadership in every Role. Therefore, making High Hazels Primary Academy a hub of academic excellence which everyone associated with will be proud of.   

 We are a school who welcome children from three to eleven years old.  Our school is a family where everyone is valued and recognised as an individual. It is a place where talents and interests are nurtured, and all are encouraged to aim to be the very best they can be in all aspects of life. We believe that every child has the ability to shine, given the right care and support and that our similarities and differences are things we celebrate with pride.
