   Dear parents Y4 pupils will visit Ponds Forge every Tuesday morning from 10th September - 28th January for swimming lessons. For each lesson your child will need to come to school dressed in their swimwear (underneath their school uniform). They will also need to bring the following: • A towel • A waterproof bag • A change of underwear
   Dear families We are taking the Y2 children to Darnall Library to have a look at the books and listen to a story. The visits will take place on: Tuesday 3rd December, 1.30 - 2.40pm – Y2 Diamond – Mrs Ali's class Friday 6th December, 1.30 - 2.15 pm – Y2 Moonstone - Miss Swain's class Friday 13th December, 1.30 – 2.15 pm – Y2 Sunstone - Miss Smith's class If your child has a library card please bring it into school and give it to the class teacher as the children will have the opportunity to borrow some books from the library.
   Dear families We would love to invite parents from Y2 Diamond (Mrs Ali's) class to watch their showcase assembly Wednesday 11th December at 10.10am. The children are so excited to showcase examples of work they have done so far this term. Please come along if you can.
   The Y4 team would like to invite Parents to a MEET THE TEACHERS BREAKFAST to give you the opportunity to share breakfast with your child and to chat with your child’s teachers. When: Thursday 12th December 2024 Location: Y4 Classrooms Time: 8:40am-9:10am We look forward to seeing you there!
   On Thursday 12th December children are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers and dress down for the day. The kitchen will also be serving Christmas lunch on the same day.
   Our nursery and FS2 children will hold their annual Winter Sing-along on Thursday 12th December 9.30am or 2.30pm. All nursery and FS2 parents are invited to attend.  Parent's can buy tickets from the school office for 50p a ticket, maximum of 2 Adults per child. Please make sure you bring your ticket to the event to be entered into the Raffle Draw.
   ** Parent Forum Meeting** Good morning families. We will hold our first parent forum meeting of the new academic year on Friday 13th December in school at 9.15am. Our principal will present latest school updates, news and plans for the new school year. All welcome!
   Our Y1 children will hold their nativity play on Tuesday 17th December at 2pm and Wednesday 18th December at 9.30am. All Y1 parents are invited to attend.
   Dear families On Thursday 19th December we will hold our Winter Fair in school 2.30 - 4.30pm There will be a variety of stalls selling goods. lots of yummy food to buy, bouncy castles which are always lots of fun! Everyone is welcome!
   Dear families The last day of term is Thursday 19th December. School will be closed 20th December - 6th January 2025. School will re-open for all pupils on Tuesday 7th January 2025.
   New School Uniform for September 2024 Dear families, In a bid to make uniform more affordable, we have decided to change our school uniform slightly. Pupils can now wear navy blue sweatshirts/cardigans either with/without the logo, white polo shirt, plain black jogging bottoms/leggings/skirts, black shoes or plain black trainers, children no longer need to wear ties. Girls can wear a pull over type (not loose) scarf in navy or black

A very warm welcome!

I am incredibly proud and privileged to lead High Hazels Primary Academy and look forward to welcoming and introducing you to our fantastic team, who are proud to serve Darnall and the surrounding communities.   

We are committed to ensuring the children of this community continue have the best education possible by following the principles of United Learning Framework for Excellence ; The Best from Everyone, Powerful Knowledge, Education with Character, Continuous Improvement, and Leadership in every Role. Therefore, making High Hazels Primary Academy a hub of academic excellence which everyone associated with will be proud of.   

 We are a school who welcome children from two to eleven years old.  Our school is a family where everyone is valued and recognised as an individual. It is a place where talents and interests are nurtured, and all are encouraged to aim to be the very best they can be in all aspects of life. We believe that every child has the ability to shine, given the right care and support and that our similarities and differences are things we celebrate with pride. 

The life of our school is driven by our core values of Respect, Confidence, Enthusiasm, Creativity, Ambition, and Determination. Learning is brought to life through high quality lessons, real life experiences and opportunities to recall and apply knowledge previously learned.
