In FS2 this week, the children have been busy exploring lots of new learning!

In Maths, we have been investigating repeating patterns. The children enjoyed creating their own patterns and spotting them in the world around us.

In Phonics, we continued learning the set 1 sounds and got busy writing them.

We’ve also been developing our speaking and listening skills by using our Kagan partners to talk about what we like and don’t like. The children loved sharing their ideas and listening to each other!

It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they learn, share and work together.

Next week we dive into matching and sorting in math, talking more about our families in Literacy and continue learning through our play!

Today, our creative little explorers had a blast using fans to discuss the idea of transient art. 🚀✨ It's amazing how something so simple can spark such imaginative conversations! 🎨💨

We’re super excited to share that our Opal Play project is a hit with the children during lunch times! 🎉 To make it even better, we’re reaching out for your help!

This week, we’re on the lookout for any pushchairs, scooters, and even pots and pans that you might have tucked away and no longer use. If you have any of these items, we’d love to give them a new home in our play sessions!

And guess what? We’ve got some fun snapshots of the kids enjoying their lunchtime activities last week! 📸

What a fantastic first full week we've had last week inFS2! The children have been settling in beautifully, learning all the rules and routines of school life. They've enjoyed exploring our outdoor area, taking on classroom challenges, and getting stuck into lots of fun maths songs!

We've also been focusing on important life skills, like using the toilet independently and washing our hands properly . This week, we talked about what makes each of us special, and even started our very first phonics lessons – well done, everyone!

A big thank you to those who have returned their homework already – keep up the amazing work!

This week we will be exploring repeating patterns in Math, talking about ourselves and our families in Literacy and continuing with our daily phonics lessons. Of course we will also be having lots of fun learning through play!

Reminder: If you haven’t already, please purchase a book bag from the school office and make sure your child comes to school each day with a water bottle.
